RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN VIA CALANDRA

PDF
The creation of a new building in an 'empty plot' (caused by bombing raids during the Second World War) in the historic city centre is the project's goal, notable for the considerable level of innovation as regards energy efficiency.
Following current regulations, the building can be certified in 'energy class A'; its thermal consumption is estimated to be lower than 30 kWh per m2 per year.
This performance was achieved by incorporating:
_external wall insulation which reduces heat dispersal;
_ a condensing boiler alongside a heat pump generator for room heating and air conditioning;
_ a waste heat recovery system;
_ sun-filtering curtains on the south-facing glass façade.
This small building contains 5 apartments and an office, as well as an underground garage.
